Week 30 at EP Project 52 was Psalm week. While hunting for my psalm this week, I got to learn a little more about the Psalms.  Here are a few facts...All 150 psalms are in 5 books of Psalms. Half are written by David and 50 are anonymous. The book of Psalms are the longest and most widely used books of the bible. As I dug through book after book, I realized that the great thing about the Psalms is that there really is a Psalm for everything - that's what made this week so fun. It was great to see your creativity each day. You guys really found some great things to photograph that brought those words to life visually. This week really shines the fact that our great group of photos are created by careful planning and execution not by accident.

Our top ten is in no particular order, if you enjoy the artist, check out their work. Leave them some love, tell them why you like it. Links to more work by each featured photographer are below each shot.

Here we go...

ONE {Gorgeously photographed to perfection. The peek of light between the feet is fantastic. Love this shot!}

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

TWO {Wonderful perspective. I love the way the earth is so small compared to your background. It really brings your Psalm to life.}

Psalm 104:5 He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.

FOUR {I love the softness of this photograph. The tones are amazing. The reflection is a wonderful bonus!}

Psalm 46 - the earthquake psalm

My favorite verses from the psalm:

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way...

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

FIVE {I was pulled in by the color pops and was led right to the details in the sand. Very well executed!}

My inspiration is Psalm 139:13-14 and 17-18 :

13 "For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful,

I know that full well."

17" How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!

How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them,

they would outnumber the grains of sand —

when I awake, I am still with you."

SIX {The peek of blue really brings these words to life. You captured the dark texture so perfectly...but the blue shows these dark clouds will pass. I love it. And who doesn't love your Florida Palm trees?}

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

EIGHT {The light is a beautiful illustration for the words - the sky is what sucked me into this shot. It is so blue, it's purple. I love it.}

Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

TEN {First, I love that you are participating in a low light photography class! Very inspiring for us all! Shot is wonderfully soft and filled with beautifully perfectly straight lines. Fantastically planned!}

Psalm 77:19 Thy way is in the sea and thy path in the great waters and thy footsteps are not known.

Week 31's theme is "Time" - Time is everywhere, all around us, never ending, constantly ticking and passing - how will you choose to photograph it? Good luck this week!

I chose the hour glass. There is something visually appealing about watching the sands slip from the top to the bottom, watching time pass, seeing how real every second is. I like it. I shot this in studio with 2 softboxes and edited it in Nik's Color efex 4.0 with detail extractor & solorization.

We dabbled in a little more kitchen remodel. The tragic story is that while I was taking my time on the tiny details of what would I like above my sink? and What shall I put in the 4 foot corner by my dining table, my cabinets were discontinued. {insert your sad sad violin music here} But my husband is that guy who never gives up...he found what I wanted collecting dust in a mid-western warehouse. He's pretty awesome and super hot.

The foam beans for my newborn nest arrived yesterday. And I was pretty confident that I had bought way too much. But no, it really does take 4 giant bags of beans! And you seriously need an assistant to attempt filling this beast.

Lastly, Jefferson and I had a wonderful check up yesterday with Dr. Ringhoffer. Baby sounds great, is head down and growing on schedule. I gained another two pounds and was told, "Eat more starches." I started with a cookie. Hooray for Me!

Wishing you a wonderful week filled extra time, family, fun and photography! Make it a great week!
