"Big" in photography is all about perception and point of view. The great thing about photography is with the right lens, even the tiniest bug and be the next "BIG" thing. This week we saw big landscapes, big skyscapes, and some BIG life moments. One of the best things about this weekly challenge is getting to know all of you - this week was a nice peek into your lives. You guys do such a good job with narrating your photos and giving out a little extra information that keeps us all in touch with each other. It's warm and fuzzy, and I like it.

This week's top ten is here. As always the photographer's information is listed  below the art, if you enjoy the shot - send them some love via Flickr, Facebook and/or their blog.  Photography is a constant challenge of endless settings and equipment options - and while that may seem like a struggle - it's also the thing that makes photography so exciting.  So, dish out some praise today!

Ready. Set. Here we go!

18/52 "Glowing Love" By Ellenburg Photography

If you follow my blog, you got a sneak peek unknowingly into this week's theme. I shot this photo this weekend. Confession: I planned this shot for two weeks and it felt good to execute it the way I planned it. (you know that's a challenge) You are looking at a shot nearly right out of the camera. It's got 6:30pm Alabama light and the light is being reflected off a field of a weeds that resemble  wheat combined with a dandelion.  It really made for some gorgeous photos of this super fun couple.

What's new with Daphne?

Well, I did in fact venture out, hold and shoot the new Canon 5d III - and it's so tough to decide. One, it's hard to make a decision while holding a $3500 body and only a cheap $150 lens (despite my love for the fixed lens) I think I'm going to check it out again with the 50mm 1.2. Two, I'm way intimidated by the menu.  I felt like I needed one of those bright yellow dummy books while I fumbled through the Menus. For fun, I texted this photo to my husband and his only response was, "so, did you buy it yet?" Sounds like a green light to me.

I really felt like a rock star shooting this gorgeous couple's engagement this weekend - they are wedding this June. I had so much gorgeous light and they were so fun. I've been on a high all week just in love with this job.

Not only did my first of the three Peter Max's come in this week...{Madison looks less than thrilled, right?}

Untitled

But my husband has finally embraced my Peter Max love and booked us on a Collector's Weekend with the Artist held in New Orleans this June. It's hard to even express how excited I am.

Untitled

It is rumored that at these auctions that I can bid on a custom creation where Peter will paint me. I told Mike we're so bidding on that! "And how's he going to paint you?" You know, naked wearing the Heart of the Ocean, just like Kate. "Will you please stop watching that Movie?" Never. {Hmmmm, where will I hang it.}

There was a great week of Dance...with the Modest Madison.

Untitled

A great week of Ball with Grant, who is really driving that ball deep into the outfield this week! {I love love love to hear the crack of the bat} And I taught Jackson enough Photoshop & Illustrator for him to champ out a Book Report on a Cereal box. {It's pretty sweet right?}

Untitled

And lastly, I'll be spending my day using this hideous thing - attempting not to destroy $150 worth of photo mats while I grommet eyelets into them for my big wedding show this weekend

Untitled

and I'll also be glued to some Creative Live to feed my J * love. { Click here: There is still time to sign up}

Wishing you a wonderful week filled with Fun, Family and Natural Light Photography! Make it a great week!

xoxoxo,

Daphne

We post our photos to our Flickr group each week by Thursday Midnight and start a new theme each Friday. Each Friday we spotlight 10 photographers and tell why they are featured. Our focus is on education (the how tos) and encouragement (don't be afraid to try something new). I'll bet there is something you'd like to learn. And...I'll bet there is something you can teach us. Check out the group, we're 74 strong this week! It's free to join and the friendships you'll make are priceless. Join us today!
