I Made it!
Saturday, August 03, 2013 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
When I hear, "I made it!" I go into survival mode. I made to Friday! I made it through college! I made it to another anniversary! {well, almost} It's easy to think of all the challenges you've overcome rather than the things you can make with your own hands. As photographers, we are creative people. If we can't make it ourselves, we know someone who can. And there are some of us out there that can always make it better than someone else so we just plain old do it ourselves, no matter how long it takes us. I painfully fall into this category. Where is it the most fun? At a Dinner. I like to taste and guess and try to recreate it "MY" way. And then I force others to eat it while smiling. And most of the time, it's pretty good or better. It's nice when Michael tells me it was better, even though sometimes I'm pretty sure he's lying.
No matter what you Made it through or what you made with your bare camera holding hands, this week was full of some fantastic work. I enjoyed peeking into your lives.
Our top is always in no particular order. When you enjoy the photograph, check out the artist. Chances are you'll enjoy more of the great things they "Made" ! Here we go...

Week 32 - It's a Proverb! This is going to be a great week for guessing photos and there is like a bazillion proverbs, so have fun with it this week!
My proverb is: "You can't have your Cake and Eat it too!" or can you?
This is baby Rosie. Yesterday was her First birthday and it was a FULL day for her. She had those terrible shots and had her portrait done in our studio. I talked her Mom into this cake smash for my proverb and then she took a bath in my sink. She is a real cutie!
Edited in Photoshop CS6 with Viveza to pop the color and I sharped every bit of icing on her cute face and fingers.
What's New with Daphne Ellenburg?
I've had a really nice week. I went to a 4th birthday party with my family. This is my oldest boy holding my baby boy.
I got the greatest fortune EVER. It was worth every carb.
They put up my sign on Tuesday and I cried like a baby in my parking lot. Yep, that really happened. My sign is so gorgeous and I designed it myself in Adobe Illustrator.
Madison has decided that she is only wearing shirts with animals wearing clothes. Today she is wearing a cat with sequenced glasses.
Saw this and was horrified. I didn't want to be the only one to feel icky about it. So you look at it too. And that's why it's on clearance.
Newsflash: Summer Daphne is back for the fall! I've decided to rock highlights all winter even.
Today, the studio is getting REAL fast internet and on Sunday, baby Jefferson is getting baptized.
Wishing you a fanstasic week filled with family, fun and photography! Make the most of every day. And good luck finding your proverb this week!
