Spring has Sprung!
Saturday, May 04, 2013 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
Spring has sprung, or has it? There is still snow and ice and my plants keep freezing to death or are being eaten alive by the rabbits in South Alabama. But that hasn't stopped the bird and the bees, has it? Spring is still right on schedule, mostly. The grass is growing. The birds are chirping. Soon, the snow will melt and that groundhog will continue to hide in his shame hole of lies. It was great to see your side of spring. I loved all the flowers, the baseball and the growing grass. This is one fabulously cheery group. I appreciate the happy place you continue to make our group.
The top ten was tough as always, so here we go. Our top ten is always in no particular order. If you enjoy the photograph, the artist's links are directly below it. Click on them and visit thier work. Send them some love and praise. Everyone could use a little pat on the back, so pat away.

TEN {Perfect gull shot! I love beach tones. Seagulls kind of freak me out. One time, one swooped down and took Madison's PB&J sandwich right out of her hand and she just shook her tiny fist at it. They are hungry little suckers!}

Week 19's theme is: "A Mother's Love"
This week, I chose to photograph my middle boy, Grant. Grant is my star scholar having NEVER made a B and is reading at a 9th grade level in the 4th grade {but he doesn't like those boring 9th grade books}. He is also my baseballer. And when he's not reading 39 clue books or playing baseball or minecraft, he is being an awesome big brother to Madison and Jefferson. Here's a shot of him just before the big game against the Rays in his Detroit Tiger's gear. Shot using natural light in studio and edited with Exposure 4, yes...I finally got around to buying the Alien Skin Photo bundle.
What's new with Daphne Ellenburg?
My week was pretty packed, as it always is. At least that's how it feels. It started with a great shoot with sisters Emily and Lauren. Do you know how you have this shot in your head when you're photographing and you hope you can get it? This is that shot for me. It's so serious for tiny girls. I was so happy with it! (And so was their Mom)
There was lots of baseball. Here's Jefferson in the Home dugout with Coach Dad.
Madison and Jefferson rocked my studio for a quick shot to update his baby book.
My new slinky was an epic fail as it took 4 Ellenburgs to get it down the stairs.
Madison got some super tall high tops.
And this week when both Jefferson and myself couldn't sleep we went to the studio and made this. Then he passed out, and still was awake. So unfair.
