Week 10, Our favorites!
Friday, March 09, 2012 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
Flower Power was a fantastic week. I know many of you like me, had to go out and hunt down your flowers at a local nursery - I knew finding beautiful blooms would be a Challenge and you guys were not only up for the challenge, but excelled at finding some fantastic flowers to share with us this week. We saw fields of flowers, great macro, great overlays and flowers that turned into works of art. You guys always impress me with the special "uniquely-YOU" spin that you put on all your photographs.
Now on to our top ten - As usual, our EP Project-52 top ten is in no particular order. The artist's links are listed below each photo. Stop by, check out their work , and send them some love - your words of encouragement can make all the difference to one of our Newbies or someone who struggled with this weeks theme. Get out there and spread the love! Ready. Set. Go!

Here is a little bit about Terry:
My name is Terry Lynn Ayers and I've been a self taught photographer for the past 5 years. There are so many online tutorials for photoshop and lightroom it certainly makes it possible to learn on my own. I began because I have 9 children and didn't want to pay for senior pictures from someone else. Pretty soon their friends started asking me to do them, and it just grew from there.
The other thing I am big into is sports action shots. I take all the sports action pictures for our school here in Anderson, IN and post them on the Liberty Christian Athletics facebook page. Check them out! Now that the grandkids are coming,(number 6 is on the way!) I'm getting into baby pictures as well.
Last year I became an affiliated photographer for NILMDTS. The first case I shot was that of my own grandson, Nehemiah. He lived for 70 minutes. Though his life was short, he changed ours forever.
I believe it takes special kind of person to be associated with NILMDTS - Terry, your association is so commendable! Terry would like to leave you with a few words of encouragement:
"I encourage anyone out there who is interested in photography that they CAN DO IT and get quality work if they take the time to learn.
My purpose has always been to capture the spirit of the heart to give confidence to the individual. When they see the strength and beauty they have in the image.....they can do anything!"
Congratulations Terry Lynn - You have a big & beautiful family! To see more of Terry Lynn's work, visit terrylynnsphotos.net

Week 11's theme is just in time for a week of Irish fun, our theme is "Green" - There will be so much green this week everywhere with Spring trying it's best to peek out at us and all the "Kiss me I'm Irish" activity - it's going to be a fun week. As for me, I chose to photograph something I can eat. Blame it on the pregnancy. I took these last night & will narrow down to one for you guys by Sunday. What's the background? 12x12 scrapbook paper!

What's new with Daphne?
My weeks always start out the same - Ballet and Little people. Monday with Madison's dance class is really a nice way to make Monday's exciting ~ at least for me :-) Yes, those are shamrocks on her tutu!
The week took a terrible turn with we had to say good-bye to our new pup, Pepper. It hit Madison pretty hard. She still tears up once a day and when she cries, I cry. It's a vicious cycle.
The Vet diagnosed her with Parvo on Friday and she passed away on Monday. She was only 3 pounds and 12 weeks old. As sad as it was, Madison said it best: "At least we got to love her for a little while" :-(
Last night, I took my husband to a charity fundraiser where the keynote speaker was the Legendary Coach, Gene Stallings.
Gene is a real treat. He is the former football coach from Texas A&M, University of Alabama, the Dallas Cowboys and the former St. Louis Cardinals. Besides being such an amazing roll model - he's a huge advocate for children with special needs. I'm going to leave you this week with a great quote from Gene:
"Life is not about weathering the storm, it's about learning to dance in the rain" Thanks Gene.
Wishing you a wonderful week of family, fun, Irish Luck and Photography! Make it a great week!
XOXOXO,
Daphne

So, What is EP Project-52?
We're a group for Photography Enthusiast and Professionals all teaching and learning through each other by photographing to a theme each week. We post our photos to our Flickr group each week by Thursday Midnight and start a new theme each Friday. Each Friday we spotlight 10 photographers and tell why they are featured. Our focus is on education (the how tos) and encouragement (don't be afraid to try something new). I'll bet there is something you'd like to learn. And...I'll bet there is something you can teach us. Check out the group, we're 66 strong this week! It's free to join and the friendships you'll make are priceless. Join us today!

Karen Gibas - Thank you for featuring my photo! I had to put my camera aside for a few weeks to deal with of one of life's little speed bumps. I shouldn't have though because shooting again is so therapeutic!
