Week 19, Our Favorites from Trees.
Friday, May 11, 2012 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
This week's theme "From Trees" really had some great creative ideas flowing through our photographers. When you think about it, said wonderfully by Irela this week, tons and tons of endless things come from trees, like: Cork, Baseball Bats, Suntan Oil, Toothpaste, Shoe Polish, Wax, Chewing gum, Fruit, Nuts, and even Rubber & Syrup. It was fun for me to see the great thought you put into seeking out some of these things. Things I thought I might see but didn't were Bananas and rubber. Otherwise, you guys were all over things I thought would be great this week and things that I'd never thought of. That is why I love this group. When you look through your lens, you see the world your way and you process that shot you make it the way you want it look. That's what makes you an artist and that's what makes photography so much darn fun!
Our weekly top ten is in no particular order. If you enjoy the shot, the artist's information is listed below the photograph. If you are featured & would like me to also link to your personal website or blog - email me, I'm happy to do it. daphne@ellenburgphotography.com Remember that photography is an endless battle settings, lenses and amazing gagets...if you like a photo - shout about it!

Week 20's theme is "PATTERNS" - This week I found myself really enchanted with the Birdcage Netting pattern. I played around with it in white and black, heck I love them both. I worked a little in to Madison's photos on Friday. This is my favorite - awkward smile and all :-)
This color shot is edited with the new Photoshop CS6 (which I'm so in love with already) and Florabella's new Action - Retouch & Makeover. I used her eye brighten action and I love her sharpening brush - I used in on Madison's Eye lashes and an Birdcage pattern that touched her face.
I also did the same shot in Black and White below, using only Florabella's Classic Black & White action from her Classic Collection.
What's new with Daphne? {With photos from my iphone}
This year I substituted my tasty frozen Margarita for a Choco-Taco for Cinco de Mayo.
I bought a new book, that I haven't started. (Confession: I only read Charlaine Harris & James Rollins....and the occasional business book I find magically on my Ipad bookshelf, compliments of the husband's business book obsession)
Mike hung my new fancy art by Peter Max - they are called "Winter into Spring" and "Summer into Fall" I am totally in love with them. (This shot is totally dark)
I'm rocking out the new Photoshop CS6 - I love the new darker background like Lightroom - and it really is notably faster than CS5 - which I thought was probably a bunch a hoooey, but seems to be legit.
I signed up for the Adobe Cloud (which should be available today, but is not. Sad Face.)- which gives you complete access and download of the Master Collection - why? Only because I am fascinated by InDesign. I really think I could rock out some cool newsletters with it, or at least would like to give it a shot :-)
My new Ninja baby gets a check up today, so I'll let you guys know how he's doing next week. He is still without a name.
And as a nice Mother's day treat, here's a video from my Mommy & Me afternoon with Madison. Happy Mother's day to all the wonderful Mom's in our group and to the great Mom's you know and LOVE! How are you going to celebrate Mother's day this year?
Wishing you a Wonderful Week filled with Family, Fun and Photography!
