Week 20, Our Patterned Favorites....
Friday, May 18, 2012 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
Despite the fact that patterns in all shapes and sizes make up the better part of our day, when it comes down to choosing just one to photograph, it's darn tough. This week, our photographers really went out there and found, created and transformed some pretty ordinary things, into something magical. It was a lot of fun for me to watch the spool of photos come through so early and each time so different. You guys really did a fantastic job!
Week 20's top ten is in no particular order. If you enjoy the photograph, the artist's links are below it. Check out their websites and their work. If you like it, shout about it! Photography is an amazing puzzle of endless lenses and setting combos, it can be quite the challenge. Everyone can use a little encouraging pat on the back now and again (even super tough you) - so pat away -it will make you feel warm and fuzzy. If you're featured this week and you'd like me to add a blog addy or website to your feature, just drop me an email - I'm happy to do it.
Ready. Set. Here we go week 20....

Shot with the 35mm Macro lens & my trusty E-5. Edited in CS6 with Nik software's Viveza. True story: I had actually stopped off the side of the road to photograph this yucca plant...
It was standing tall all by itself and it just looked plain cool...and before I knew it, I was fascinated by this little guy.
It's funny how that works out.
What's new with Daphne?
My Mother's day weekend was fantastic. It was everything I wanted. I had a great bridal meeting, bought some new fantastic shoes {I may have tried on shoes for a solid hour}, got to take a nap...and I spent Saturday & Sunday Morning with the busiest ladies I know, Traveling Soccer Moms. These Mom's are pretty serious and are sometimes in a different state each weekend. I don't know how they do it. This weekend, there were about 20 Minutes from me...so not a big trip for me, but a nice drive for them. I got shots like this...
But it's really fun when you can find little gems like this...{giggle}
New still nameless baby boy got his first set of wheels...{Eddie B makes a sweet ride}
I Saw this and had a good laugh, because Jackson's 12 year old candle blowing out birthday wish was for a mustashe...
I had an epic fail Wednesday when my J* plans fell apart. You can read all about it here. I had so much fun writing "Wishing & Hoping Wednesday" that I might work it in every week.
Other than that, I'm doing the dreaded glucose test today at 3pm for new baby. Fingers crossed for the small test and not the all day big test. Yuck.
Also, if you're looking for a great class...check out Creative Live today - they have an awesome Speed lighting class starting today, and it runs all weekend. Perhaps the mysteries of Speed Lighting and the Pocket Wizard will be revealed. PS - if you get hooked, and can't stay glued to your computer, download the Ustream app on your smart phone and catch it there. Confession: I so do that all weekend where ever I go - my car riders are forced to listen to whatever creative live has going on. {Or they can walk} :-)
Wishing you a fantastic week filled with Fun, Family and Photography! Make it a great week!
