Week 43, Our Spooky Favorites.
Friday, October 26, 2012 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
A Spooky Photography theme is a great way to spice up what could be an average Charlie Brown in a sincere pumpkin patch kind of holiday. Halloween is supposed to be a little creepy. {Remember that guy, Michael Meyers?} I tone the creepy down around the house, but that spooky edge makes this a fun holiday for both adults and kids. I love it. I love the scares, the haunted houses, the corn field mazes that never end, and I love the candy. Mostly, the terrifying Butterfinger minis. Sweet and Spooky are a winning combination. Week 43, really brought out the dark creative fun in our Project 52 group. Prepare to be frightened. Here comes the top ten.
Our top ten is in no particular order. If you enjoy the photograph, links to the photographer's work is directly below - check them out. Leave them some love. Join them on Facebook or Twitter. These guys have a lot of fun stuff going on! Here we go....
ONE {I love the washed tones, the scary cornfield and the birds...all combined into a very wonderfully spooky creation!}

Week 44 - "RED and/or WHITE and/or BLUE" Pick one or two or three...as we gear up for election week here in the US.
You know how you think all week about what you're going to shoot for this week's theme and exactly how you're going to do it? Well, I just knew I was shooting my Red, White and Blue toothpaste. What a disaster. It was a sloppy mess. Fortunately, I have no shortage of Red White and Blue around here. Enjoy my Pinwheel. Shot in studio with 2 softboxes and edited with my favorite software, NIK's Viveza and Define.

What's New with Daphne Ellenburg?
Our appearance Saturday at the Saraland Harvest Festival was a success. We battled the wind all day and met some great families.
I've conquered Halloween. Everyone has their costume - included Mike and I. Big reveal, coming soon.
Not so surprisingly, I put up my Christmas tree. I usually wait until November 1st, but what the heck, I love Christmas. {And maybe I wrapped a few gifts.}
New baby slept 6 hours in a row for 2 days in a row. This is one happy Mom. Instagram is the BEST app ever.
In other exciting news, I'm teaching a class for the Mobile Public Library on December 1, 2012. The class is on how to create works of art and holiday gifts from your 2012 digital photos. It should be a fun class to teach and it will be fun to meet some new faces. If you're local, join us for a great Saturday Morning of photography.
Wishing you a fun week filled family, fun, photography and plenty of Halloween Treats!
