Week 5, Our Favorites!
Friday, February 03, 2012 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
The color wheel. I almost Never think about it. Unless, I'm doing something special ... Like entering a competition or setting something up for a client. It's easy to forget how something so easy, tiny and portable can make such a big difference once you spend a little time with it and get to know it.
Remembering that opposites on the wheel compliment each other...Can really make an ordinary shot magical. This week our group really went out there to create and find some wonderful complimentary colors in their part of the world. As always, our top ten is in no particular order - if you like the artist, click on the links below the photograph to explore their work. And if you really like it, send them some LOVE - photography is a challenge and everyone could use a little encouragement, if you like it - tell them why! Your words are always appreciated and welcomed in this group...so leave some love today! Here we go...
ONE {Most colorful & creative junk drawer ever! Great color capture!}

SEVEN {What I love most is ofcourse the great color & refection but that you kept the small imperfections, it's easy to photoshop out anything that is less than perfect, but I think those little things make this shot fantastic!}

TEN {What's not to love here. I've liked this all week. The color is great but I really really like the rough structure details on the pencil - so crafty!}

And now for the most exciting part....next week's theme. Since I'm so in love with Valentine's day... Our theme for week six is "Affection"
I absolutely love the little girl dresses that come with a doll dress. As the first February Miracle, Madison put her doll dress on an actual doll and not a stuffed cat or dog. This shot wasn't exactly as I planned it in my head...as it won't stop raining in Alabama...but I'm in love with this new blanket for my background & and it all just worked. Shot edited with a few favorites: Nik Dfine 2.0, Viveza 2.0, MCP Actions' Powder your nose and Eye Doctor for the lashes.
So..what's new with Daphne this week? Well...I made the greatest pancakes ever {Thank you William & Somoma - it was worth a ton of Mom Points}
I found a morning sickness treatment that is a serious fashion violation. {all I need is the matching headband}
I baked my first from scratch cake {I know, it's about time right?} It was a 1978 Hummingbird cake receipt & bunt cake pans must have been bigger in 1978.
And I'm packing for my trip to the Bahamas - no kiddos, but me and my super fab husband. Next week's blog will be written under a palm tree on a tropical island...but I will add photos daily & we will publish our new theme and top 10 on Friday.
Wishing you a wonderful week filled with Fun, Family & Photography! Have fun capturing affection this week!
XoXoXo,
Daphne
So, What is EP Project-52?

We're a group for Photography Enthusiast and Professionals all teaching and learning through each other by photographing to a theme each week. We post our photos to our Flickr group each week by Thursday Midnight and start a new theme each Friday. Each Friday we spotlight 10 photographers and tell why they are featured. Our focus is on education (the how tos) and encouragement (don't be afraid to try something new). I'll bet there is something you'd like to learn. And...I'll bet there is something you can teach us. Check out the group, we're 59 strong this week! It's free to join and the friendships you'll make are priceless. Join us today!

detta owens - Morning sickness. Blah. I hope it passes quickly. Great choices again this week. I am so enjoying this. Funny you should mention the blemishes on mine. I debated back and forth whether to fix that spot on the red pepper or not but ultimately left it in. The only thing I did in PS was to run a sharpen action. Did not mess with the color at all cause I loved it so much.
