Week 9, Our Favorites!
Friday, March 02, 2012 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
The Looking Glass was a fun week for our creative group of photographers. I enjoyed the creative ways you found your looking glass - reading glasses, shooting through a window, cars, mirrors...you guys did a fantastic job with this theme. I absolutely LOVE reflective photography, so you can bet a water theme one of these 52 weeks of fun.
Our top ten is always in no particular order. Under each photo is a link to the artist, if you like the work...visit them, and leave them some love on their blog or Facebook or Flickr - Photography can be a tough beast to master, your words of encouragement can make all the difference to budding photographer. So go ahead, spread the love!

The Photographer of the week was such a big hit...that we're happy to keep it going - This week's Photographer of the week is my friend, Catherine Cella of Joyful Reflections Photography.
Within the Looking Glass...who do you see? By Joyful Reflections
One of the many perks to flickr groups is making new friends. Catherine & I became friends last year and often talk on the phone and email. She's a great listener, great to bounce ideas on and is a wonderful photographer. She introduced me to Jasmine Star, now I totally love her too! She has a very supportive family, and a very energetic adventuring son. She loves to photograph flowers and nature, but really excels at photographing people. And, she makes all her own greeting cards! Here is a few things that her website says about her:
Things that bring me JOY...
- My faith......believing!
- My most precious prize, my husband.
- My very energetic, adventurous, adorable son and my number one model!
- Being a Mama!
- Holidays and all the special times with family.
- Giving from the heart.
- Finding a great deal at an antique shop
- Gardening and getting dirt under my nails.
- Sushi!
- Skiing in fresh powder.
- Singing.
- Fresh flowers in my kitchen.
- Laughing 'til my belly hurts.
- Musicals.
- Lasting friends.
- Walking hand in hand.
- Brighton...oh I love Brighton.
Please join me in congratulating Catherine as Photographer of the week. Please visit her work, write on her blog and join her on Facebook. You'll be glad that you did!
Do you want to be photographer of the week? Leave a response in our flickr discussion with your interest in participation and then send me an email to daphne@ellenburgphotography.com with some details about your business. We'd love to feature your work!
Week 10's theme is "Flower Power" - I added the power for fun...shoot your flowers in a up close or in a field or bring them inside for some studio magic - However you choose your flowers, I can't wait to see them!
Here's our photo of the week -
10/52 Dots & Damask
This is also our entry into this year's Festival of Flowers Photography competition. We also entered this one (I call it Orchid Eagle):
So, What's new with Daphne this week?
Well, I photographed a lot of flowers in the wind and rain. Flower photographers, be ready - the wind is not your friend. I took most of my flowers inside. I still feel a bit crumby with this new baby, but less crumby than 2 weeks ago. I watched a few movies like, Puss and Boots, Real Steel, and The new Twilight Movie. Super scary birthing scene in that last one. Just Saying. I also have to mention that I slept through leap day - a free day, wasted. {sigh} The big news this week is we have a new addition to our home. Pepper.
Pepper is a Jack-Chi - if you can imagine such a combination. She's sweet, lives inside, is 11 weeks old and weighs only 2 pounds. Madison is completely head over heals in love with her. So are the rest of us.
How was your week?
Wishing you a wonderful week of Family, Fun, Flowers and Photography! Make it a great week! Like what you read? write about it on our blog...
XoXoXo,
Daphne
So, What is EP Project-52?
We're a group for Photography Enthusiast and Professionals all teaching and learning through each other by photographing to a theme each week. We post our photos to our Flickr group each week by Thursday Midnight and start a new theme each Friday. Each Friday we spotlight 10 photographers and tell why they are featured. Our focus is on education (the how tos) and encouragement (don't be afraid to try something new). I'll bet there is something you'd like to learn. And...I'll bet there is something you can teach us. Check out the group, we're 62 strong this week! It's free to join and the friendships you'll make are priceless. Join us today!
