Fashion Forward.
Saturday, June 08, 2013 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
Fashion is defined as a popular style or trend or behavior. I like to call it what comes around goes around or even better, what came around is coming back again, So get used it. I like to remember that daily since my daughter and her friends like to run around dressed like a pack of highlighters. And I'll admit, my neon pink toe nails may or may not be bright enough to glow in the dark. It's all part of the fun of fashion.
This week we saw lots of trends, behaviors and popular styles. You guys nailed it. I loved them all. Big thanks to the big gang at Project 52 for rocking out these great shots despite all the things life throws at you. You make this group FUN to be a part of and for me to host! Thank you.
Our top ten is always in no particular order. If you like the shot, check out the artist. Chances you will like more of their work. And send them over some love. It feels good and we all could use a little pat on the back, so go pat some backs!
Buckle up. Here we go...

Week 24 is "From the Kitchen"
I decided to use something from someone else's kitchen. This tasty pink cake came to my home along with sweet baby who just turned ONE this week!
Meet baby Haleigh.
and for fun...here's one more from her Friday Session!
What's new with Daphne Ellenburg?
This week is like no other week for me. I'm going about my week same as always, burning my candle at both ends. I started working out - Elliptical at 5am. Not glamorous, but it's quiet {priceless} and I can read uninterupted {seriously priceless}. In fact, I finished Inferno (read it!) and am now reading The Great Gatsby.
On Tuesday, I watched a movie with Mike. In the cave. Great stuff. I hope they make another one.
On Thursday, my husband accused me of Dreaming too Small. He said that I've outgrown my home studio and should start looking for a place in town. {Gasp!}
That instantly gave me one grey hair. {ok, two}
But I considered it. Then I called a lady whose name was on a building. {While driving, thank you Siri} She gave me 7 addresses with directions. I peeked in 6 of them, got lost on the way to seven but stumbled into a real gem. I called the owner. He came right over and let me in. I tried not to pee my pants, which was a challenge since I consumed an entire Diet Mountain Dew in the hot Alabama Sun while I waited for him with my nose pressed against the glass. Inside was all my colors - reds, whites and blacks {a sure sign from the heavens}. I liked it from the start. It was huge. 2000 square Feet. I walked into a giant open space that made me feel like I was in an art gallery followed by a small foyer, a giant restroom with a urinal ~ I know, then a huge break room bigger than my current studio and then, and then this is where it got real... a shelved storage receiving area for all my cluttered endless props.
I was in LOVE.
I wanted Michael to see it. But then I second guessed it. This felt like it was moving a little fast and he did want to mow the lawn that day. A lot. {Apparently} But he said he'd see it anyway. The owner met us out there. Michael didn't like it as much as I did, well except for the urinal but thought it had potential. And gave me the thumbs up. So turned over a chunk of horded cash and I got this shiny key.
Here's a peek of what it looks like inside from my nose pressed window:
Here's a shot of what it used to be ~ explains the urinal :-)
Michael says that now I never have to wonder about what could of happened if I took the leap. Oh, I'm leaping now. I am so blessed to have a husband that lifts me up to dream bigger and isn't scared of the financial risks of trying something new. It still feels like a roller coaster.
So, when's the Grand Opening and dramatic ribbon cutting? I'm hoping for the end of July. I'm making a few changes. :-)
It's been a really GREAT week. My smile is huge.
Wishing you a GREAT week filled with fun, family and photography!
