Kitchen Stories.

I always like to think of the kitchen as the heart of my home. For as long as I can remember, I've always had more people in the kitchen than in any other room. So I knew when I found my dream home, it had to have the biggest kitchen ever, just so I could fill it with people. My kitchen is huge. There is something comforting about voices talking over coffee, and the quips of too many chefs cooking. When I was a little girl, my cousins and I would stand outside the door and listen to the mysteries the kitchen held while trying to translate some secret form of cajun french. A full kitchen and we couldn't understand anything going on in there. No recipes. No gossip. Nothing.
The Kitchen is still a pretty great place today. It's not just where we cook. It's where we do our homework. It's where we sit and sip coffee and lemon aid and visit with friends. It's where I've had some of my great ideas. It's where I read the paper and sew tutus. It's where I created my frozen grape martini. Knowing all the fun things that go in my kitchen, it was great to get a peek into yours. We saw things to eat, things to clean, things to see and lots of great bold colors this week. You guys really served us some tasty photos this week!

Week 25's theme is "About Him"
It's Father's day weekend, and it's HIM time. Think about him and photograph it.
The great thing about Michael is that he reaches for his Dreams with both hands. And even though he's working hard on those dreams, he somehow finds time for force me to use BOTH hands to catch my dreams too. It's nice to have someone to push you to be the best you. {Even when you want to punch them the face} You know they have the best intentions. And it's good to hold on to those dreams with BOTH hands.
What's new with Daphne Ellenburg?
The new dream studio now has electricity and water. Hooray. It also has fresh paint and flooring picked out...so it looks like things are progressing nicely. I'm beyond excited.
I worked for Michael this week chipping tile from the 1930's off his rental house bathroom. I wined. I complained. I bled. I chipped 25 tiles before I went home.
Before I had my fabulous cake smash last Friday, Madison tested my new background. She's got great eyes.
Speaking of my cake smash. Haleigh's family loved it. The best part of my job is seeing faces smile back at the smiles I captured.
On yesterday evening's quest for burlap for Saturday's baby shoot - I gave my smiling faces more smiling faces.
Lastly, I'm testing some new software for you guys. The new Exposure 5 is fabulous. Its very visual, and user friendly. Check it out if you haven't yet. Also, the Ordering software ProSelect is really great so far. It was very easy to read, easy to set up and made ordering super fast, accurate with a visual invoice for my client. And the best part is you can lease it and write it off on your taxes.
Wishing you a great week filled with Fun, Family and Photography. And for the Dads and the Dads you love, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
