It's a boy, this Mom's story.

In my line of work, I meet a lot of people. And with everything I've been told, each birth gets easier. And that's been so true. Each our our babe's have have come faster and easier than the last. Baby Jefferson was going to be my dream 2 hour delivery - he was an induced delivery and I just knew I'd be done by 10am. Just my luck, Jefferson is on his own schedule.
We had a fine start, in our room and ready to go for 6:30am. And then time stood still for the next 8 hours. No hard labor until 2:30pm. After and hour and thirty minutes of no baby...I had 30 minutes more before my section. A section. What? I've never had a section. Jefferson was going to be my biggest baby. I was scared and boo hoo'd like a bigger baby. I was so happy to have strong Michael, with fingers laced, holding my hand, telling me all the things I needed to hear to make all the right decisions.
After lots of tears .... I gave a thumbs up at 4:30 pm and off we went to surgery.
I've never, EVER had surgery. I couldn't imagine that 20 minutes later we'd have a baby. A baby boy.
Jefferson was born at 4:58 pm on Friday, September 7, 2012. He was 8.15 pounds and was 21 3/4 inches long. Michael saw him first and took all these wonderful photographs. Watching him see our baby made me cry...just like always, reminding me of the first time.
I'm always so genuinely impressed at how much you can love someone so much that you just met. Our hearts are so full.
Then Michael followed him around the rest of the day like baby paparazzi. Happily.
High Ten!
It felt like the longest day, and it may have been my hardest labor; but on Friday my heart doubled in size. We are blessed with another wonderful healthy baby. I can't stop smiling.

Alita - Daphne, what a joy to read your story on the birth of Jefferson and to follow the love story, that is you and Mike. God had a plan for you and that was to find an amazing man, that loves you and the boys and to grow your family with two more beautiful children. The two of you are such an inspiration to all of us, and amazing roll models as parents for your 4 amazing children. I'm so glad that I have had the chance to come to know you and your family and very proud to call all of you my friend.
