Week 37, Our Interesting Perspective Favorites
Friday, September 14, 2012 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
Many times great photography is all about the POV - Point of View. It's what separates us from everybody else. We can all see the same thing, the same way and see it differently, no art makes that more clear than photography. Week 37's theme of Interesting Perspective really had our group's creativity flowing. We saw some great angles of ordinary things and some unique looks making the hum drum of life extraordinary. Really great shots this week!
On to the top ten. Our weekly top ten is in no particular order each week. If you'd like to participate in our top ten, have your shot in by Thursday Midnight, otherwise...you do have until Saturday to post to each theme. The artist's links are directly below each shot, if you like the photography, check them out. You may enjoy all the other great things they are working on...so don't be shy about it. Here we go...

Week 38's theme is "Comic Relief" - I couldn't help but use this Dad Loved shot of baby Jefferson....we're calling it "Baby Air Guitar" - great story: I'm breaking Jefferson's newborn shots into a week of c-section recovery chunks 30 minutes at a time. Michael and I are in the studio. I was in Lightroom 4.0 making my selections. I'm searching for the perfect baby announcement shot and 2 for 20x24 canvas's that I bought months ago.... so I'm picking, he's not. Until this shot comes up - I'm like "whoa, not this one." Then Michael says, "Daphne, this is as good as baby Air Guitar gets." and maybe he's right :-) Enjoy.

What's new with Daphne Ellenburg?
Well, without surprise...I had a bouncing baby boy last week. He is 7 days old today. My labor was the hardest yet and still resulted in a C-Section (my first), not because of distress, but because my little linebacker has a 14 1/2 inch head and even wider shoulders. Yep, he's our biggest baby yet. He was born at 4:58pm Friday, September 7th weighing 8.15 pounds and almost 23 inches long.
My girl friend said, "Daphne, I think he has your mouth." Very funny.
We spent 4 days in the hospital and are finally home. Jefferson is sleeping, eating and growing. He's not fussy or whiney, yet. Michael and I have really been enjoying this week together. Madison just adores Jefferson, always wanting to kiss him on the head. The boys check on him and occasionally request to hold him.
The C-section recovery is tough. My stair climbing is limited. I need a step stool to get into my own bed. My feet are still puffy and my tummy looks like a balloon slowly being deflated. Sigh. I finally felt up to the first mini shoot on Wednesday. I was eager to get him under my controlled studio lighting. I love this artsy Black and White.
And here's one I love from yesterday...This hat rocks.
As for the rest of my week, it will be filled with these 30 minutes of studio fun, naps, diapers, feet up and yes, football. I'm not going to any games this week, but I'm going to make an effort to watch them all.
Wishing you a wonderful week filled with Family, Fun and Photography! Make it a great week!
