It's a Song.

Confession: I love the "It's a ..." theme weeks. No matter if it's a book, song or movie ~ I play the guessing game and try to guess what it is before I look at your title. I stare at your shot and just guess. Sometimes the kids guess too. Madison was pretty upset that there were no Bridget Medler songs. Bridget is one of those Disney gals. We listen to a lot of Bridget here since Madison was kind enough to treat me to the new album for Mother's day. {So thoughtful, right} It's a fun guessing game - try it for the next "It's a ..." week.
We saw some amazing shots this week set to beautiful music. Music is inspiring. We listen to it while we edit, while we drive, while we shoot...and maybe we are getting new ideas from the music or maybe the music clears our heads for the great ideas to come out. Whether you saw the shot before the song or after, you photographed some wonderfully creative shots this week set to music.
Our top Ten is in no particular order. If you enjoy the shot, chances are you will like more work by the artist. Click the links below to photograph to see more of their work. And just send them some kudos. Everyone loves a pat on the back ~ so pat away!

Since Memorial Day weekend around here is the official "unofficial" first week of summer, Week 22's theme is "Fun in the Sun"
When I thought about this week's theme, I knew I had to go to the beach. I loaded up all the little Ellenburgs and spent the day Friday under an umbrella with a good book (the new Dan Brown) and my four babes. {And SPF 100 is the real deal, I got a glow and no burn. The Alabama sun is unforgiving.} Here's a shot of Madison after her traditional beach trip Sand Angel.

What's new with Daphne Ellenburg?
The big news is that my new sweet 35 mm fixed lens arrived on Thursday. And honestly the 1.4 is amazing. I can't wait to play with it this weekend. The more I shoot, I realized the closer I want to be to my subject, so this lens I think is going to be life-changing for me. I'll keep you posted as I play with it.
The girl scouts are back. This time, it's in my coffee cup and at a considerably better calorie count. Only 35, if you're into that kind of thing.
My babes finished school on Wednesday. Both boys are rocking straight A's. I couldn't be prouder. Everyone here wanted to celebrate. Dad took them out Wednesday for a super guy adventure on the Battleship. Mom opted for a relaxing Friday at the Beach.
This is beach Daphne. Yes, my hat IS golden. {And sparkly.}
My Friday had the best view. It was baby Jefferson's first time at the beach. He had a great time, but didn't "get" sand at all.
And this was dinner. Mike surprised us with a cajun delight - Crawfish. Mmmmm. All in all, it's been a great start to the official / unofficial first weekend of summer.
Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend filled with family, fun, photography and a little fun in the sun!
