My Favorite Fuzzy Fruit

Fuzzy seemed like a fun theme for Week 8's Ellenburg Photography Project-52. After all, when you think about it, there are endless fuzzy things....pets, peaches, a handsome chiseled chin, my legs last week. I could go on forever... For me, my favorite fuzzy thing is this Kiwi. For the first two months of this pregnancy, I've had an apple everyday almost...now, new baby hates apples; but loves Kiwi. Hooray!

I rarely ever shoot with white background. Why? Because it scares me. {sad, huh?} Whites are tough without software. But so many folks in our group are really rocking some white backgrounds, that I've decided to give it a chance.

For editing this week, I'm using my favorite Nik Software, DFine 2.0 and Viveza 2.0 - I love them. With Viveza I added structure to the fuzzy parts of my Kiwi. I also lowered the saturation of the white and increased the contrast - removing the slightly off white tint that often drives me crazy with white backgrounds.
My set up was so last minute-easy.

You are looking at a chair piled with backdrops from my last shoot {Lazy}, a simple white poster board and 3 soft boxes. Low drama for a great shot. I used a 35 mm Macro Lens. It's always fun to experiment with your photography. Hope you have a fun week with your shots!
