Week 39, Our Fall Favorites
Friday, September 28, 2012 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
The first week of Fall always seems to roll in with a bit excitement. I always look forward to it. Maybe it's less for the excitement of the new pallet of colors that will begin taking over in so many places other than South Alabama, but more for all the anticipation of the great things that happen in the fall. There is Football, Homecomings, Halloween, endless baking and what the hay, we can just add in the excitement of all the Holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Fall seems to be filled with more family activity for me than any other season - I always look forward to it. And Not to be overlooked is the exciting return of Egg Nog to every grocery store on every block. Hooray! Welcome back Fall!
For week 39, Our photographers created some really great Fall masterpieces - but lets not forget it's not Fall everywhere. Some of our photographers are celebrating Spring in their part of the world. Our top ten is filled with Fall Fun. If you enjoy the photo, the artist's information is directly below the photograph. Visit the links, check out their work. You might be their newest fans.

Week 40's theme is "Little"
For this week's theme, I chose to photograph two of my favorite Little things, my littlest girl and my littlest boy. Aren't they cute? We were going for lots of triangles in this shot, do you see them?
I shot this yesterday. This photograph was shot from above {I stood on step ladder, they are on a large rectangular Ottoman in studio} using only 2 softbox lights, set up in Mock Clam-Shell lighting. Processed with Lightroom 4, Nik Define 2.0, Imagenomics Portraiture, and Florabella Collection's Honey Haze.
What's new with Daphne?
Today sweet baby Jefferson turns 3 weeks old. He's growing so fast. This is his last week in those tiny newborn diapers - he's so long they almost look like a speedo on him. {sad face} I had my "new Mom check up" yesterday to find out that I'm healing great and I dropped 20 more pounds - so now I'm only 20 more pounds from being "Me" again. Bye Bye Baby weight. Hooray! I am also back to driving, which is great in theory only. Basically, I can drive but I can't lift more than 10 pounds. The baby is 9.5 pounds. My purse is 7 pounds {I know this because my husband weighted it at the Doctors office #embarrassing} The baby carrier is another 5 pounds, and who knows how much his giant man sized stroller weighs. So, basically I can go anywhere that I can carry the baby but not my purse or my purse and not the baby. So, I'm pretty much still at home with my feet up.
My husband took my big footballer, Jackson to his first big SEC college football game this past Saturday. They had an amazing time! {and all I got was this photo and couldn't even watch the game because it was blocked out on ESPN.} Sad green jealous face. But I'm glad he's now hooked on going to the games with us.
We rocked out the Avengers for family movie night in Mike's Man Cave. I haven't watched it in 3D yet, but It's on my list. Yes, baby Jefferson comes to movie night too :-)
Baby Jefferson's birth announcements finally arrived. I guess "Finally" refers to "I finally finished perfecting them and ordered them" My printer rush over-nighted them to keep me addicted to their awesome customer service - these guys are awesome.
As for the rest of my week...there will be football, feet up, smaller clothes and planning Baby Jefferson's big One Month photos! I've got some great new ideas!
If you're looking for a great FREE workshop this weekend...check out http://www.creativelive.com/courses/workflow-album-design-khara-plicanic Creative Live is featuring a great workshop on album building using In Design. I love Creative Live.
Wishing you a wonderful week filled with Family, Fun and Photography. Make it a great week!
