Week 4, Our Favorites!
Friday, January 27, 2012 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
This week's theme of "Mis-Matched" brings a lot of things to mind...but I always automatically think of socks first. You guys really went out there and put on your creative hats and thought of all kinds of great mis-matched things. Our group is growing...we are 57 Members strong this week. Big Welcome to this week's newest Member, maibritt K olsen.
Keep tagging your photos, it's great to see where you are. Keep sharing how you guys capture your shots, this is great help to our new members that are shy and just starting out. Keep spreading the Love. You guys are doing such a great job with commenting on all the photos. It's really impressive and I know that it's really appreciated.
Drum roll.....now it's on to week Four's top ten - as always our top ten is in no particular order. If you like the artists, the links to see more of their work are below each photo (I'll happily post any links you attach to your work, so feel free to add in any websites you may have). Remember, not every day is a rainbow and not every shot was easy...if you like it, shout about it! Everyone could use some encouragement. Here we go...

Week 5 is going to be one of those learning weeks I promised. You're going to need a Color Wheel.

(I got mine at Hobby Lobby this week) If you don't have a color wheel, this website has some great information: http://www.tigercolor.com/color-lab/color-theory/color-harmonies.htm
Our theme is "Splash of Complimentary Color" - Many times when you look at a photo, you just like it and you may not be sure why...a lot of the time, that mysterious why is complimentary colors. Some colors just mesh better together than other. When you're looking at your color wheel, the colors directly across from each other are complimentary colors. They are the colors of your Favorite holidays, your favorite sports teams - these color combos were no accident. The color wheel is magical - use it this week to plan your shot and shoot anything you'd like.
I went with Purple and Yellow because I really wanted to photograph Lemons - I call this, "Baby wants 12 Lemons"

Color combos are good far and up close...

These shots were taken outside at about 7am in my field of dreams on the only day it didn't rain this week in Alabama, and the only day I didn't feel like I was dying from Iron Supplement poisoning. A new pregnancy anti-perk. I ran each shot through Nik's Define 2.0 {because I can't live with out this app} and then through Nik's Viveza 2.0 to pop only the Purple & gold colors.
Wishing you a great week filled with family, fun, photography and great Complimentary Colors!
Thank you so much for participating in EP Project 52!
XoXoXo,
Daphne
So, What is EP Project-52?
We're a group for Photography Enthusiast and Professionals all teaching and learning through each other by photographing to a theme each week. We post our photos to our Flickr group each week by Thursday Midnight and start a new theme each Friday. Each Friday we spotlight 10 photographers and tell why they are featured. Our focus is on education (the how tos) and encouragement (don't be afraid to try something new). I'll bet there is something you'd like to learn. And...I'll bet there is something you can teach us. Check out the group, we're 57 strong this week! It's free to join and the friendships you'll make are priceless. Join us today!
