"And Then I Ate it" was quite a week. When I was planning this week's shoot in my head, I saw a white plate with perfectly coiled pasta, a little splash of red sauce, maybe a sprinkle of  cheese on top or a nice green leaf; made complete with a slightly out of focus glass of wine.  I even thought about how I'd work my fork and an old cutting board into the shot. It was going to be some real Gourmet Magazine stuff. I'm talking the cover here. And what'd I shoot? A hand full of popcorn. Huh? Well, I also shot this.

And then I ate it. Well, some of it. And it was pretty darn good. The point is that my big amazing plan, sort of fell to crap. Does that ever happen to you? Sometimes I'm packing way too much stuff into my weeks. Back to school is really throwing off my A game.

The food shots this week were amazing. There were so many up close shots packed full of detail that it made my mouth water. The colors were bold and to quote Laura, it was just YUM all the way around. And I hope you did get to eat it afterwards or at least some of it.

Week 36's theme is: "Look Down!"

I love all things ballerina. And when I'm photographing those gorgeous girls, I'm daydreaming about owning my own pair of pointe shoes to prance around my kitchen in. I love them. This week, while my client was changing, I photographed her shoes.

What's NEW with Daphne Ellenburg? 

I bought some new tunes.

Created a melty gummy masterpiece with the help of the sun.

Watched a GREAT movie. Over and Over again.

Jackson got invited to join the Jr. Honor society, which he almost passed on b/c he's darn busy with school and football. And that's just one of the many benefits of the daily investigation that starts with "Tell me about your day..." You're welcome, Jackson.

Had a few cuties in the studio.

And welcome back football! All the Ellenburgs attended the Jags game Thursday. Mr. Ellenburg is a Jag Grad and we're season ticket holders on the 45 yard line.  Well all the Ellenburgs stretch from the 44-50 but I sat on the 45 this week. Maybe next week I'll shake it up. It was awesome, well until the last play.

I know I'll be working in some great games into each week for the next few months. I love the fall! Now go watch football! :-)
