Minis rule week 3.
Saturday, January 19, 2013 | By: Daphne Ellenburg
Week Three's "Mini" week was BIG fun and spilled over with creativity! I loved the way you visually made so many minis look even smaller. We saw mini treats, mini horses, mini coopers and a few mini-mes. All in all, it was a great week to be little. Big thanks to everyone who is keeping the dust off their camera and is rocking out this weekly challenge!
The Top Ten is up. {Our top ten is always in no particular order. If you like the artist, the link is below the photograph. If the artist links their work to a website or Facebook, I'll pop that in too - so you can check out their work or be their next big FAN! If you like the shot, send them some love. Everyone could use a little pat on the back each week, so go ahead and pat away.} Here we go...

Week 4's theme is: BARE MINIMUM
This is my minimalist, Jefferson. He requires so little be happy. A warm blanket and a bottle of milk and he is all smiles. Baby Jefferson had a great 4 month check up this week. He gained 2 pounds and nearly 2 inches. This photograph was shot in studio with 3 soft boxes { i am in love with continuous lighting } and a soft bright green blanket over my super awesome Newborn Nest. The newborn nest rocks, if you shoot newborns, you'll love it you can wipe it clean. No more unstuffing and washing. YUCK.

I shot this one yesterday too...I love the washed black and white and the way his big eyes POP!
What's new with Daphne Ellenburg?
After Baby Jefferson's Dr visit, she gave him the green light for green veggies! He can have 2 teaspoons of veggies twice a day. His first choice, sweet peas. And the best part is I got to feed him first. This is the first baby I get to feed first. My Mom always sneak attacks me for the first feeding. I felt so victorious filling his tiny mouth with sweet peas. She did watch over me and did tell me I wasn't doing it fast enough. Sigh. I love my Mom.
I experimented with Flowers in the studio this week....and loved it.
I also had a big booking week - big for me...2 dance studios, one wedding and one family. I felt a little like a rockstar. And immediately wanted to buy something new for my camera to celebrate the joy. What shall it be.... The 70-200 2.8 ISII is on sale. {Thinking about it.}
I learned how to make a new tutu this week. I can't wait to try it. I think I'm going to double or triple tie mine for maximum fluffiness. {This is the stuff Mom's are chatting up while our daughters dance on thier toes once a week.}
Wishing you guys a fantastic week filled with family, fun and photography! Make it a great week!

Irela - Oh my...this was a tough week for sure. So much talent, so many wonderful entries. Congratulations to ALL the featured photogs....you guys rocked it out. And Daphne I have to say that the shot of Madison (with her flowers) instantly reminded my of how Sue Bryce LOVES those big flowers on the side of the head. JUST LOVE IT!! All the colors, the flowers, the fingernails,etc just blend and then POP...her blue eyes. Just lovely.
