Something New.

Something New always makes me think about babies. Last year sweet baby Jefferson was my "Something New" and life has never been more wonderful. You just never forget how precious life is when you first hold that sweet tiny baby for the first time. I love to photograph new babies on Ellenburg birthday weeks. I'm always amazed at how fast they grow and we just can't stop it no matter how hard we try. My teenager, Jackson is taller than me now. He said, "Mom, it's a medical fact!" - since it's on his chart now from his physical this year. Settle down boy, this isn't CSI. Sad face. I still tip toe around him for effect, and it's a great calf workout.
This baby Raelyn. She was certainly something new and wonderful. Her Mom loved this video and I thought I'd share it with you.
I loved seeing all your new things this week. Our photographers were packed out with new gear, great birthday gifts, shopping adventures and new fresh ideas. Your spin on our weekly themes is always inspiring. Thanks for taking time out of your busy week to create a masterpiece this week!

Week 38's theme is: "It's a Movie!"
I went straight Disney on you with "The Game Plan!" Come on, it's football season. Michael said, "Daphne, that movie is not about REAL football" So what. I still liked it. It was still a great movie. This is my sweet baby, Jefferson ~ He's the big Number one now.
What's new with Daphne Ellenburg?
My weekend was packed with first birthday fun and football. He had a really great birthday. On Sunday, my big Ellenburg family had a lunch picnic at the studio, we had a cake smash for baby Jefferson and watched the Saints victory. It was the best day ever. Here's a shot from behind the scenes - I love it. Madison was really into this cake smash. That's my Mom back there.
I adore this shot!
And here's one more favorite. I'm printing this 15x30.
Baby Jefferson had a stellar check up. Over 32 inches and barely over 20 pounds. He's long and skinny and healthy.
Madison lost her first tooth and read her first book all in one week. I was so proud listening to her read me a book about soda pop. It was a stellar parenting moment.
The anniversary furniture arrived. I've got a new red set up for my living room. It seats 12 now.
My Satsuma Gator rocked out some middle school ball. I was so proud of him. He played nearly the whole game and he looked great out there! And now has one of those gnarly purple football bruises to be proud of.
Madison spent quite a bit of time at the studio with me. It was really nice. She wasn't really interested in photography as much as she was interested in the Disney Channel.
How's this for gorgeous? My friend Melanie has been named as my personal seamstress. Congratulations Melanie! {She didn't seem to mind} She created this for a new baby I have coming in next week. Melanie is so talented and is going to be selling these on Etsy. If you love it, I'll have more details as she gets started on this business adventure. I can't wait to put this on new baby Gracie.
I told my chatty daughter who is losing conduct points for having weekly staring contests with a kid named Hunter, "If you have a week of Green Light conduct, I'll take you shopping to spend your allowance. " They move up by being helpful to others and general good behavior. She was green Monday - Thursday and rocked out a Purple on Friday. Great job! So, when I asked her where she wanted to go Friday Night to spend this allowance, she said - "Pier One" This is SO my child. Meet our her dog, Bailey.
Wishing you a fantastic day filled with family, fun and photography! {and some football!}
Make it a GREAT week!
